Regional Countries Urged To Help Resolve Burma Issues Urgently

The National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma (NCGUB) is grateful to all nations that have voted in favor of a resolution by the United Nations Security Council which would have helped resolve the exacerbating political, socioeconomic, health, and narcotic problems in Burma.

British MPs Discuss Resolution on Religious Freedom in Burma

The motion was proposed Thursday by Conservative Party member Stephen Crabb.

The motion, if passed, calls for the UN Security Council to pass a binding resolution that requires Burma's military-ruled government to cease what it calls widespread violations of religious freedom, release all political prisoners and give international organizations unrestricted access to the country.

Bush Urges Democratic Progress in Burma, Cuba, Belarus

(VOA) President Bush reaffirmed his support for the democracy movement in Burma during his State of the Union speech.

While most of the president's speech Tuesday was devoted to domestic issues and the war in Iraq, he promised to push for democracy in several countries.
