MPU President Teddy Buri Appreciates Korean MPs

U Teddy Buri, president of the Members of Parliament Union, sends appreciation letter to Korean MPs for demanding the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners in Burma



   Congressman Song Young-gil of the Republic of Korea (second from left) receives letter of appreciation from Khon Teddy Buri, chairman of the Members of Parliament Union, for sending a joint message from 34 ROK members of the National Assembly to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Senior General Than Shwe calling for the release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners on the 13th anniversary of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's house arrest on 24 October 2008.

The appreciation letter was delivered to Congressman Song Young-gil, member of the Supreme Council of the Democratic Party at Room No 511 of the Assembly Members' Office Building at 1500 on 10 December 2008.

U Zaw Moe Aung, joint secretary-2 (left), U Kyaw Zwa Lin, foreign affairs liaison in charge (second from right), and U Kyaw Moe Lwin, organizer (who is also the vice chairman of the Karen National Association), of the National League for Democracy (Korea Branch), presented the appreciation letter from Khon Teddy Buri.

Hon. Song Young-gil is the first Congressman to urge the Speaker of the National Assembly to raise the issues of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's freedom and democratization of Burma in the National Assembly.
